In the ‘slow city’ of Cheongsan-do Island, Wando-gun, which boasts its pristine nature, will host a familiarization tour (fam tour) to attract foreign visitors for two days from July 24th.



According to Wando-gun, about 90 foreign members of Korea Foundation from English-speaking countries such as the U.S. and Canada will participate in the fam tour. They will walk on the slow road, enjoy slow food, and draw abalones during the tour.



Actress O Jeong-hae will be invited, indicating that the island is also a filming location for Sopyonje, a Korean movie highlighting the tradition of pansori, a Korean traditional opera. Participants will have a chance to lodge at traditional farmhouses, experience traditional fishing, and walk along an old stone wall.



Wando-gun said that this event aims to give beautiful memory and good images of Cheongsan-do Island to foreign residents of Korea, so that they can promote the island as a tourist attraction.
