Jindo in South Jeolla Province is stepping up its efforts to develop the turmeric industry, a regional specialty, into a high-value-added one.



Jindo-gun has set up a team to foster the turmeric industry into one that represents Jindo. This is to lay the foundation for turning turmeric into one of the most valuable agricultural products.



The team, participated by seven corporations, consists of 16 members, including agriculture professors, Ph. doctors, administrators and advisors.



All plans ranging from forming an organization, developing a brand, hiring a R&D service provider to establishing facilities require an approval from the team.
