South Jeolla Province Lures 41.7-Billion-Won Inves

According to Yonhap News,
South Jeolla Province signed an investment agreement, worth 41.7 billion won, with heads of the nine companies, such as processors of eco-friendly agro, marine & livestock products and electronic equipment providers, in the Seo Jae Pil room in the provincial government building on March 17th.

Under the agreement, Dongyoung ST and FOBU ENC are expected to invest 7 billion and 6 billion won respectively into the Eco-High agro Industrial complex in Damyang to establish a case factory for electronic goods and a factory for synthetic wood.

The Founder Shindangdong Rice Cake is planning to spend 5 billion won into Haenam, build a large factory for the manufacture of dduckbokgi (a popular Korean snack food, made with sliced rice cake and gochujang, a hot paste made from chili peppers) in line with international sanitation standards and launch a new product combined with traditional Korean food and herbs recognized by the Korean medicine for their good attributes, while Woonsuk Bio Co. Ltd is expected to invest 4.5 billion won into Gokseong to produce pro-environmental biological fertilizers and deodorants.

CMD will make an investment to manufacture marine structures such as bridges to ports (Boseong. 2.5 billion won), Haewon to make agricultural and fishery equipment (Haenam. 5.5 billion won), and Youngsan F&G to produce apparels and engage in logistics (Younggwang. 5 billion won).

Jungang E.N.G will invest 4.7 billion won in Younggwang to manufacture cooling and heating equipment utilizing geothermal heat and Medi Food will spend 1.5 billion won in Younggwang to produce kimchi using salicornia herbacea.
