Mokpo Regional Port Office to Frontload KRW 23 bil. in Mokpo New Port Project
According to Yonhap News,
The Mokpo Regional Maritime Affairs and Port Office announced on December 7 that it will frontload KRW 23 billion in the first quarter of this year out of the total budget worth KRW 38.6 billion to vitalize the regional economy and facilitate job creation.
It has appropriate the budget in key projects, including KRW 16 billion in Mokpo new port construction, KRW 13.8 billion in wharf construction for fishery patrol ships and marine police ships, and KRW 8.8 billion in Mokpo port entrance course dredging cost.
In particular, the port office is planning to consign execution design for north port hinterland development and dredged sand dumping site to service providers.
Mokpo Port Authority Commissioner Kim Sam-yeol said, “We will make the effect of budget-frontloading reach related parties at the earliest time possible.”
