Eulwangni Beach in Incheon, Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market in Gangwon-do, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan, and Yeosu Maritime Cable Car in Jeollanam-do are just a few examples of the top 20 winter destinations as selected by Koreans. The Korea Tourism Organization partnered up with SK Telecom to create a T-map listing the top 20 attractions for each of Korea’s 16 provinces and metropolitan cities based on the number of destination searches from November to February.

The top results for each region are as follows: COEX Mall in Seoul; Seomun Market in Daegu; Eulwangni Beach in Gwangju; Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju; Seongsimdang in Daejeon; Ganjeolgot Lighthouse in Ulsan; The Garden of Morning Calm in Gyeonggi-do; Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market in Gangwon-do; Dodamsambong Peaks in Chungcheongbuk-do; Kkotji Beach in Chungcheongnam-do; Lee Sung Dang in Jeollabuk-do; Yeosu Maritime Cable Car in Jeollanam-do; Cheomseongdae Observatory in Gyeongsangbuk-do; Hallyeosudo Viewing Ropeway in Gyeongsangnam-do; Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market in Jeju-do. The results show various types of destinations, including traditional markets, temples, and bakeries.

In addition, Gangneung’s Anmok Cafe Street was the most visited destination for viewing the sunrise on New Year’s Day, followed by Gyeongpo Beach, Naksansa Temple and Sokcho Beach in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively, crowning Gangwon-do with the top four sunrise viewing spots.
