Jeonnam-do Signed Investment Agreements Worth KRW

According to Yonhap News,



Jeonnam-do (South Jeolla Province) has successfully attracted six manufacturers of eco-friendly food and traditional beverages.



The Province held an agreement signing ceremony with the participation of CEOs of the six companies.



The companies are in the businesses of agricultural and livestock product processing and distribution. They are expected to contribute to increasing incomes of agricultural and livestock farmers and creating jobs, as they will make eco-friendly agricultural and livestock products of the Province high-quality brands and provide them stably to consumers across the country.



Under the agreements, Saeam Foodment (CEO Kim Yong-ju) will relocate its headquarters from Yongjin, Gyeonggi Province to Myoryang-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeonnam-do. The company will invest KRW 3.2 billion to build a food processing factory on the area of 7,000 m2 by 2012.



Saeam Foodment is an established company specialized in the distribution of school lunch ingredients. When its factory in Yeonggwang is completed, the number of its employees will increase to 53 and its annual sales from KRW 20 billion in 2009 to KRW 65 billion.



Surimwon Farm Corporation (CEO O Jong-seok) will invest KRW 2.6 billion in the area of 15,000 m2 in Beopseong-myeon to produce Korea’s traditional sauces and salted cabbage and supply them to department stores and discount stores.



The other parties of the agreements plan to construct manufacturing factories in Damyang-gun, Jeonnam-do.
